L’affaire Dominici par Orson Welles – “The Tragedy of Lurs”
Ajoutée le 4 sept. 2013 – Ce documentaire est l’histoire d’une rencontre improbable entre l’une des affaires criminelles les plus célèbres de l’après-guerre en France et l’un des plus grands cinéastes américains.
The film, entitled “The Lurs Tragedy”, after the village where the crime took place, was never completed. Our documentary presents the film, which has now been restored. It is the only document shot shortly after the trial in which the majority of the protagonists in the Dominici affair express themselves. It was also Orson Welles’s first experience directing for the television.
Accompanied Orson Welles – and Alain Pol – who worked as cameraman on the director’s television works – our documentary is a journey into History : that of the television and the cinema, that of the life of Gaston Dominici, a poor rural man in post-war France, and that of his guilt, which is still a matter of controversy today.
